“Never too old to share our love for teaching from Teacher Cici” - I love to share my knowledge at every opportunity......

At the golden age of 88, Teacher Ci Ci is the undisputed senior orphanage ambassador of the Mary K. Yap Foundation. She has been a devoted freelance English Teacher for more than 60 years, starting her career at 25 years old, at about the same time she became a mother and housewife.

She is not shy in proving her love for English teaching or in contributing through philanthropic and charitable work. It is especially admirable at her age that she has the energy and commitment to have taught four classes to both children and adults that include writing, listening, speaking, and reading every Saturday and Sunday for the past three years.

In a recent interview she said, “I love to share my knowledge at every opportunity so that these orphan children can find hope and a better future” Teacher Cici believes that English is one of the skills that the children can use to build their future bridge to success anywhere around the world. The children all call her, “Teacher Gyi”, which conveys their greatest respect for her longevity and hard-earned wisdom.

The Mary K. Yap Foundation is extremely proud to have been associated with Teacher Cici since 2010, when she graciously extended her lifetime commitment to teaching English to helping our orphaned children.
