Welcome and sincere thanks to our volunteers, donors, and contributors for making 2017 another successful year.The Mary K. Yap Foundation has faced up to challenges expanding our capacity to serve nearly 10,000 orphans from just 5,000 orphans in 2015.Myanmar remains a challenging environment for our operations.Our efforts to publicize and raise support for the orphans must compete with all the other news that seizes national and international attention and concern. Despite these tests of our resolve we continue to have faith that compassion and charity will prevail in the world in 2018.
Through our partnership with Mandalay Productions LLC, we have started on steps to make, "The Movie for Charity."This first joint movie production, to be filmed in both Myanmar and the United States. "The Movie for Charity" program will help raise money and attention to our efforts to support the orphans of Myanmar in both countries.This marks an important milestone for the foundation as we look for more and more innovative ways to fundraise, ally with new partners, and bring more to the orphans in our care that we have shown our love and compassion to for nearly twenty years.

My fellow board members, and I would again like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the volunteers from the San Francisco Bay Area and Yangon project team for making a difference this and every year. The ever growing needs of the Myanmar orphan community, and the effort to provide educational opportunities for them to give them better future shall succeed and continue. Our mission is to be a voice speaking out to the entire world on behalf of the orphan children of Myanmar and providing hope for them for years to come.
