Music for the Myittamon Orphanage:

A day of song and entertainment for the orphan high school students of Myanmar.

San Francisco, USA – July 8, 2017 at (time)

Please join us for a celebration at the Little Theater, Serramonte High School in Daly City to help better the lives of Myanmar’s orphans.

This will be an unforgettable occasion with dazzling entertainment and live performances from the Burmese American community. Enjoy delicious Burmese cuisine as the Mary K. Yap Foundation introduces the "High School Diploma” program to support the plight of gift marginalized children deserving of a high school education and an opportunity to go to college.

“No child should ever be deprived of an educational and the opportunity to advance themselves," says Jason Avraham, a Mary K. Yap Foundation board member and an adoptive parent. But perhaps James Morcan said it best, “The purpose of having the orphans study all these diverse fields was not for them to just become geniuses, but to become polymaths – meaning they would be geniuses in a wide variety of fields.”

This year charity event will support three talented girls from the Franciscan Missionary of Mary Sisters Orphanage in Hmawbi Township in Yangon Region, Myanmar. For more information about the Mary K. Yap Foundation’s “High School Diploma” program, please visit http://marykyapfoundation.org/high-school-diploma-for-orphans

The Franciscan Missionary of Mary Sister orphanage a.k.a Myittamon Orphanage opened its doors during the horrific period following Cyclone Nargis, in the Ayewarddy Region, Myanmar in 2008 when more than 138,000 lives were lost and countless children were displaced, orphaned, or cast into poverty. Forty girls currently reside at the Myittamon Orphanage.
